Getting to the Blue Mountains by Car – 1.5 to 2 hours from Sydney and Sydney Airport

How to get to Leura ‘Blue Mountains’ Retreat:

From Sydney Airport (M5)

Proceed from the airport to the M5 Motorway. Turn west on M5 and proceed until King Georges Road. Turn right on King Georges Rd and follow until you get to Homebush. Turn left onto the M4
and travel west to the Blue Mountains.

From Sydney – Via Great Western Highway (M4)

Proceed west from Sydney along Parramatta Road to the M4 Motorway, and travel west to the Blue Mountains.

  • The M4 becomes the Great Western Highway at the foot of the Mountains – just past the Emu Plains exit.
  • Travel on the Great Western Highway for approximately 50kms.

Continue on the Great Western Highway until you get to Leura (there are signs), you will pass under a footbridge. At the footbridge, branch off to the left at the Leura sign. When you get to the round-about above highway, do not turn left into Leura Village, but take the fourth exit (Sydney, Penrith sign), as if you were going back onto highway, towards Sydney. Before you get back onto the highway, get into the left lane, and turn left into Mount Hay Rd. Then about 3/4Km down on the left you will find No. 58. The number is on the car port.

From Lithgow

Coming from Lithgow, as you approach Leura on the Great Western Highway, you will turn left at the Leura sign at the round-about and turn left into Mount Hay Rd. Then about 3/4Km down on the left you will find No. 58. The number is on the car port.
